You can perform a soft reset on it by powering it down for 10 seconds then powering it back on. Ensure the iPod Shuffle is disconnected from. Click the "Restore" button in the Summary tab. Your device will be reset to its initial factory settings and will contain no data. iPod Shuffles can be reset by doing the following procedure: unplug from computer (if connected), move the hold switch to the off position, wait five seconds.
